Cesium Titanate is generally immediately available in most volumes. High purity, submicron and nanopowder forms may be considered.American Elements produces to many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade); ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade; Food, Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Grade; Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia)and follows applicable ASTM testing standards.Typical and custom packaging is available. Additional technical, research and safety (MSDS) information is available as is a Reference Calculator for converting relevant units of measurement.
Cesium is a Block S, Group 1, Period 6 element. The number of electrons in each of Cesium's shells is 2, 8, 18, 18, 8, 1 and its electronic configuration is [Xe] 6s1. In its elemental form cesium's CAS number is 7440-46-2. The cesium atom has a radius of 265.5.pm and it's Van der Waals radius is 200.pm. Cesium compounds are slightly toxic. Cesium is a member of the alkali group of metals. It is one of three metals that occur as a liquid at room temperature - the others are mercury and gallium. Cesium is available as metal and compounds with purities from 99% to 99.999% (ACS grade to ultra-high purity); metals in the form of foil, sputtering target, and rod, and compounds as submicron and nanopowder. Cesium is used as an oxygen "getter" in vacuum and electronic tubes and as a component of photoelectric cells. Cesium compounds are considered to be slightly toxic. Atomic clocks use the microwave spectral line emitted by Cesium Isotope 133 for reference. Cesium chloride is an unproven treatment for cancer. Radioactive Cesium 137 is an artificial isotope produced that is an approved radiation source for cancer radiotherapy. Under pressure, Cesium hydride is stiffer than diamond. Laboratories use various cerium compounds for their ability to hydrogenate organic compounds. Cesium was first discovered by Fustov Kirchhoff in 1860. Caesium is named for the vibrant blue lines in its spectrum. The word Caesium originates from the Latin word 'caesisus' meaning "sky blue". See Cesium research below.
Titanium is a Block D, Group 4, Period 4 element. The number of electrons in each of Titanium's shells is 2, 8, 10, 2 and its electronic configuration is [Ar] 3d2 4s2. In its elemental form titanium's CAS number is 7440-32-6. The titanium atom has a radius of 144.8.pm and it's Van der Waals radius is 200.pm. Titanium metal is not considered to be toxic although titanium as metal shavings or powder is considered a fire hazard. In its metallic form it is not only very strong and light weight, but also highly resistant to corrosion. Thus it can be found in numerous aerospace and military applications. In its oxide form it used in low grades to produce a white pigment. Titanium is the bases for numerous commercially essential compound groups, such as titanium titanates in electronic and di-electric formulations and in crystal growth for ruby and sapphire lasers. Titanium information, including Technical Data, Safety Data and its high purity properties, research, applications and other useful facts are discussed here. Scientific facts such as the atomic structure, ionization energy , abundance on Earth, conductivity and thermal properties are included. Titanium was first discovered by William Gregor in 1791. Titanium was named after the word Titanos which is Greek for Titans. See Titanium research below.
PACKAGING SPECIFICATIONS FOR BULK & RESEARCH QUANTITIES
Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Shipping documentation includes a Certificate of Analysis and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes.
