AMERICAN ELEMENTS ANNOUNCES NEW CERIFINE™ CERIUM OXIDE PRODUCT

[ December 9, 2002, Los Angeles , CA ] American Elements announced today the development of a new high purity cerium oxide to be marketed under the trade name Cerifine™. The material was developed for use in certain advanced glass and ceramic applications where technical grade cerium oxide is less effective. Applications include as a UV Block and Radiation Stabilizer in Glass and as an electrolyte in oxygen generation and solid oxide fuel cell stacks.

The product is available in lot sizes up to 5,000 kg. The material will be delivered under full IGAS quality inspection (significant spectrometer analysis). Small orders are also available for university and corporate R&D applications.
