Abstract

This paper describes an amorphous nickel boride (NiB) electrocatalyst loaded on porous bismuth vanadate (BiVO) with high activity for oxygen evolution in photoelectrochemical water oxidation. The NiB-decorated BiVO photoanode exhibits an onset potential of 0.25 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode (vs. RHE) and a photocurrent of 3.47 mA cm at 1.23 V vs. RHE under simulated 100 mW cm irradiation.
