Ceramic Fibers are filament or thread-shaped forms of of a ceramic material such as aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and silicon dioxide (SiO2). Fibers are components of a special class of materials called Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs), which are composed of ceramic fibers embedded in a ceramic matrix. CMCs are strong, heat-resistant materials that have applications such as spacecraft heat shields, high temperature gas turbines, and brake disks. American Elements can produce ceramic fibers from high purity starting materials in both research and bulk quantities. See our products below to request pricing and other information.
