#17: American Elements Develops Advance Battery Technology Using Novel Metallic Foams

The Challenge

In spite of the great leaps made in green and electronic technology, essential supporting battery technology has lagged. The need for longer life, quicker charging and release, higher corrosion resistance and lower cost has finally led to large scale efforts to develop next generation batteries.

The Innovation

To support the efforts of public and private researchers, American Elements developed a line of nickel foam materials with varying porosity, density and high conductivity.

The Result

Our battery-grade nickel foam is now utilized in the battery development programs at public research agencies including the Naval Research Laboratories and private projects at Energizer, General Atomics and Dyson.
