About Scandium Acetate Solution

Acetate Formula StructureScandium Acetate Solutions are moderate to highly concentrated liquid solutions of Scandium Acetate. They are an excellent source of Scandium Acetate for applications requiring solubilized materials. Acetates are excellent precursors for production of ultra high purity compounds and certain catalyst and nanoscale (nanoparticles and nanopowders) materials. Acetates are also proving useful in the field of solar energy technologies: in January 2013, researchers at the Harbin Institute of Technology's Shenzhen Graduate School found that inserting ultrathin film layers of lithium acetate vastly improved the performance Bulk Quantity Acetate Solution Packaging of polymer bulk-heterojunction solar cells. American Elements can prepare dissolved homogeneous solutions at customer specified concentrations or to the maximum stoichiometric concentration. Packaging is available in 55 gallon drums, smaller units and larger liquid totes. American Elements maintains solution production facilities in the United States, Northern Europe (Liverpool, UK), Southern Europe (Milan, Italy), Australia and China to allow for lower freight costs and quicker delivery to our customers. American Elements metal and rare earth compound solutions have numerous applications, but are commonly used in petrochemical cracking and automotive catalysts, water treatment, plating, textiles, research, and in optic, laser, crystal and glass applications. We also produce Scandium Acetate Powder. American Elements produces to many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade); ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade; Food, Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Grade; Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia)and follows applicable ASTM testing standards. Typical and custom packaging is available. Additional technical, research and safety (MSDS) information is available as is a Reference Calculator for converting relevant units of measurement.

The number of electrons in each of Scandium's shells is [2, 8, 9, 2] and its electron configuration is [Ar] 3d1 4s2. Scandium Bohr Model The scandium atom has a radius of 162 pm and a Van der Waals radius of 216 pm.Scandium was predicted by Dmitri Mendeleev in 1871 and actually discovered and isolated by Lars Nilson in 1879. One of the transition metals, scandium has a silvery-white appearance in its elemental form which oxidizes to yellow or pinkish upon contact with air. Elemental ScandiumIt is occasionally included in the classification of the rare earth elements. Scandium is found in concentrated amounts in the minerals euxenite, gadolinite and thortveitite however, due to the difficulties in the preparation of metallic scandium, global trade of the pure metal is very limited. The origin of the name scandium comes from the Latin word 'scandia' meaning Scandinavia.
