Men exposed to manganese dusts showed a decrease in fertility. Chronic manganese poisoning primarily involves the
central nervous system. Early symptoms include languor, sleepiness and weakness in the legs. A stolid mask-like
appearance of the face, emotional disturbances such as uncontrollable laughter and a spastic gait with tendency to fall
in walking are findings in more advanced cases. High incidence of pneumonia has been found in workers exposed to
the dust or fume of some manganese compounds., To the best of our knowledge, the chemical, physical, and
toxicological properties have not been thoroughly investigated.

About Manganese Iron Oxide Nanoparticles / Nanopowder

High Purity, D50 = +10 nanometer (nm) by SEMOxide IonManganese Iron Oxide Nanopowder nanodots or nanoparticles are high surface area particles. Mangasorb™ nano scale Manganese Iron Oxide Nanoparticles are typically 5 - 100 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 25 - 50 m2/g range. Nano Manganese Iron Oxide Particles are also available in Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. They are also available as a dispersion through the AE Nanofluid production group. Nanofluids are generally defined as suspended nanoparticles in solution either using surfactant or surface charge technology. Nanofluid dispersion and coating selection technical guidance is also available. Other nanostructures include nanorods, nanowhiskers, nanohorns, nanopyramids and other nanocomposites. Surface functionalized nanoparticles allow for the particles to be preferentially adsorbed at the surface interface using chemically bound polymers.

The number of electrons in each of Iron's shells is 2, 8, 14, 2 and its electron configuration is [Ar] 3d6 4s2. Iron Bohr ModelThe iron atom has a radius of 126 pm and a Van der Waals radius of 194 pm. Iron was discovered by humans before 5000 BC. In its elemental form, iron has a lustrous grayish metallic appearance. Iron is the fourth most common element in the Earth's crust and the most common element by mass forming the earth as a whole. Iron is rarely found as a free element, since it tends to oxidize easily; it is usually found in minerals such as magnetite, hematite, goethite, limonite, or siderite.Elemental Iron Though pure iron is typically soft, the addition of carbon creates the alloy known as steel, which is significantly stronger.

Manganese

Manganese Bohr ModelThe number of electrons in each of Manganese's shells is [2, 8, 13, 2] and its electron configuration is [Ar] 3d5 4s2. The manganese atom has a radius of 127 pm and a Van der Waals radius of 197 pm. Manganese was first discovered by Torbern Olof Bergman in 1770 and first isolated by Johann Gottlieb Gahn in 1774. In its elemental form, manganese has a silvery metallic appearance. Elemental ManganeseIt is a paramagnetic metal that oxidizes easily in addition to being very hard and brittle. Manganese is found as a free element in nature and also in the minerals pyrolusite, braunite, psilomelane, and rhodochrosite. The name Manganese originates from the Latin word mangnes, meaning "magnet."
